USL JSD-60 won't switch modes

There is a known issue with the JSD-60 processor.  There is a ribbon cable connecting the front panel circuit board with the motherboard.  Problems with mode switching, volume changes and dark display can sometimes be resolved by reseating this ribbon cable.

  1.  Carefully take note of the cables plugged into the processor and where they are plugged in.  Take a photo of this for reference.
  2. Remove the JSD-60 from the rack.
  3. Remove the top cover of the unit using a Phillips head screwdriver.
  4. Immediately behind the front panel there is a gray ribbon cable.  Carefully unplug each end, one at a time, and reseat the cable.
  5. Reassemble the unit and reinstall it into service by reversing the steps above.
